USDA reporters say crops in the northern part of the state are showing more stress, but overall, topsoil moistures are 70% adequate and 2% surplus statewide.
Fifty-six percent of the corn is silking with 7% reaching the dough stage. Seventy-seven percent of the corn is in good to excellent condition.
Seventy-seven percent of the state’s soybeans are blooming with 41% setting pods. Seventy-seven percent of the crop is in good to excellent condition.
Sixteen percent of the oats for grain are harvested.
The potato harvest is 7% finished, with many growers getting started on the harvest this week. Ninety-five percent of the potatoes are in good to excellent condition.
Winter wheat is 56% harvested.
The third cutting of alfalfa is 41% done and second cutting is 94% finished. The all-hay condition is 77% good to excellent.
