Alf ‘Sonny’ Hansen, 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Trinity Rock Island.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 until 5 p.m., on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Penny Hansen. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Sonny was born on January 10, 1943, in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of John Alf and Elsie Brockbank Hansen. He married Penny Bixby on August 10, 1976, in Rock Island County.
He loved his dog Buddy and taking him on drives for cheeseburgers.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Penny Hansen of New Boston; three daughters, Bridgette Wedekind (Lance) of Eliza, Kristeen Nesbitt (Matthew) of Muscatine, and Stace Freeze (Doug) of Texas; and six grandchildren, Delanie (Peyton), Dallas (Bree), Jared (Mara), Kennedy, Seth, and Kaelyn (Trevor).
He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Vickie Jenkins.
