Paul Fitchner, 88, of New Boston, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Mercer Manor in Aledo.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Paul Calvin Lindstrom will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Luke Fitchner, Seth Fitchner, Zachary Fitchner, Zane Fitchner, Adam Fitchner, Tyler Fitchner, and Nathan Fitchner.
Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Paul’s honor to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Paul was born on June 27, 1933, in Wild Cat Den State Park at the caretakers home, the son of Otto H. and Wilma M. Sell Fitchner. He married Ruth Arlene Calvert on July 9, 1955, in Muscatine, Iowa.
Paul graduated from Joy High School in 1951. He was a farmer in Eliza. Paul enjoyed his family and his farm life.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Fitchner; two sons, Craig Fitchner and his wife, Diane, and Clark Fitchner and his wife, Vickie, all of New Boston; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Fitchner.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mary Ann Brown.
