Farmer says crops are looking good despite variable weather

Central Indiana farmer Phil Ramsey says crops are progressing well despite a cool, wet start during planting.

“We’ve gotten everything planted and it’s come up with near-perfect stand and population and is growing very well,” he says. “We’ve had really good rains, we haven’t been short on water so far this season, and I think we’re off to a really good start for the 2021 crop.”

He tells Brownfield wheat is also looking good.

“It might be one of the best wheat croups we’ve had assuming that we can get it harvested before the weather does something to it,” he says.

Ramsey grows corn, soybeans, and wheat in Shelby County.
