Virtual Biofuel Summit connects Growth Energy members with lawmakers

Growth Energy members are talking with lawmakers about issues impacting the biofuel industry this week during the virtual Biofuels Summit.

CEO Emily Skor says it’s especially important to have these conversations now because of the demand destruction caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

“It’s very important we educate them on all of the issues taking place right now- small refinery exemptions, trade issues, expanding access to higher blends,” she says. “It’s a really good series of conversations and I think the lawmakers very much value hearing the stories about what’s going on, on the ground.”

She says the virtual event has attracted record participation.

“This really broadens our ability to hit a lot of offices, to have a lot of meetings, and really broaden our ability to have a good impact for the industry,” she says.

Growth Energy represents producers and supporters of ethanol who are working to bring consumers better choices at the pump, grow the economy, and improve the environment.
