Ag economist has faith in China, for now

An ag economist discussing the phase one trade deal with China calls his level of confidence in the agreement fairly high.

“At least for this year and looking out into early 2021.”

But after that, Chad Hart with Iowa State University tells Brownfield he’s not so sure.

“Is this a temporary surge just to get close to the phase one targets, or is this a more permanent move?”

Hart says what is known is that China has a strong need for feed grains as the country works to rebuild its domestic hog herd.
