U.S. farmers made some modest corn planting progress last week.

As of Sunday, 3% of this year’s corn crop has been planted, compared to the five-year average of 2%, with many areas expected to make good progress this week thanks to a generally warmer, drier pattern in most of the Corn Belt.

27% of winter wheat is in good to excellent shape, 1% lower than last week, largely due to dry weather in the southwestern Plains, with 7% of the crop headed, compared to 4% on average.
