Nebraska’s ag college bucks national trend of declining enrollment

A land grant university in the Midwest has started to reverse the national trend of declining enrollment for agricultural institutions.

University of Nebraska President Ted Carter says enrollment at UNL’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources has changed less than 1 percent. “But when you look nationally across all of higher ed and particularly in ag fields, enrollment has been down nine percent just over the last 3 years.  Comparatively, our small growth is even bigger compared to the national enrollment drop.
