NCGA says the waiting game continues for relief in the fertilizer market

The President of the National Corn Growers Association says relief from record fertilizer costs and tight supplies isn’t expected anytime soon.

Chris Edgington says farmers are anxiously waiting for the removal of tariffs placed on phosphate imports from Morocco. “We’re almost to a point where we’re looking at 2024 corn unfortunately.”

The International Trade Commission placed 20 percent tariffs on phosphate imported from Morocco in 2021 and the case is under review by a trade judge.
