Crop conditions improve in Nebraska

Nebraska saw an improvement in crop conditions last week.

The USDA says the state’s corn condition rating increased one percentage point to 63 percent good to excellent. Eight percent of the crop was silking, behind 17 percent last year.

Soybeans improved 17 percent on the week to 68 percent good to excellent. Forty-percent of the crop was blooming, behind 57 percent last year. Two percent of soybeans were setting pods, behind 14 percent last year.

Winter Wheat condition is rated at 17 percent good to excellent, unchanged week-to-week. Thirty-six percent of the crop has been harvested, ahead of 21 percent last year.

Pasture and range conditions are rated 19 percent good to excellent.
