Moisture provides little relief to winter wheat in Kansas

Despite a week of rainy weather, drought is still impacting Kansas winter wheat condition.

The latest crop progress and condition report says 29 percent of the crop is rated good-to-excellent with 98 percent headed.

Ninety-eight percent of corn is planted with 77 percent emerged. Eight-six percent is rated good-to-excellent.

Soybeans are 68 percent in, two percent behind the five-year average with 46 percent emerged.

Eighty-six percent of cotton is planted and 42 percent of sorghum is planted.

Pasture and range conditions are rated 44 percent good-to-excellent.
