NAMI says Biden plan won’t help producers or consumers

The head of the North American Meat Institute says the Biden Administration’s plan to spend $1 Billion to try and increase prices for livestock producers does nothing to address the number one challenge of meat and poultry production: labor shortages.

CEO Julie Anna Potts says it’s a tired approach that blames inflation on private industry. She says the Biden intervention plan begs many questions including when new plants will come on line and will they have sufficient labor. Potts says the plan will help neither producers or consumers.
