MDARD extends COVID-19 migrant housing regulations

The Michigan Department of Agriculture has announced it will continue its pandemic public health measures for migrant workers through the end of the year.

The rules include requiring migrant labor housing providers to have an emergency and preparedness COVID-19 plan which includes social distancing measures and other COVID-19 precautions for worker safety.

The rules were set to expire on September 2nd.

Earlier this summer the state lifted its COVID-19 testing requirements for migrant and seasonal farm and food processing employees.
