Calyxt contracts all 2020 high oleic soybeans to ADM
Plant based technology company Calyxt has contracted to sell all 2020 grain production of its high oleic soybeans to ADM.
Calyxt, based in Minnesota, launched their high oleic soybean in 2019 as the first commercially approved gene-edited food in the US, followed by 5 news varieties in 2020. Under this agreement ADM, based in Chicago, is responsible for crushing the grain and will market and sell the oil and meal to their customer base that has a growing interest in high-oleic products.
The total purchases represent about four million bushels of high oleic soybeans.
