Al-Corn Clean Fuel celebrates ethanol production milestone

An ethanol plant in southeast Minnesota recently celebrated a significant milestone.

Al-Corn Clean Fuel CEO Randy Doyal says the 24-year old facility in Claremont produced its 1 billionth gallon of ethanol June 4th.

“That’s huge to me, especially starting as a 10-million gallon per-year plant back in 1996. So it took us a long time to get there, but I’m proud to say that we made it and we’re continuing on.”

He tells Brownfield the plant, and more broadly the industry, have experienced many ups and downs.

“We learned very quickly that you have to be willing to go when others say stop, and be willing to hesitate when everyone else is rushing ahead.”

Doyal says Al-Corn is a major contributor to local communities, including providing over 50 well-paying jobs and a valuable market for area corn farmers.
