Missouri corn planting way ahead
Missouri corn planting is way ahead of last year at this time, at 84%. But emergence, at nearly 60% is slightly behind average. Soybean planting reached nearly 30% as of Sunday, nearly 20 percentage points ahead of normal.
Cotton planting reached 15 percent but is 16 percentage points behind last year.
Rice planted reached 60%, almost in line with last year. Rice emergence was 46%.
Eighty percent of winter wheat had headed, ahead of last year. The bulk of the crop continues to be in fair to good condition.
