Arkansas crops: 76% rice and 47% cotton planted

Moderate to heavy precipitation fell across Arkansas last week, but planting progress was made.  Ninety-three percent of the corn crop has been planted with 85 percent of the crop emerged, and 67 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.

Seventy-six percent of rice has been planted with 58 percent emerged, with 62 percent of the crop rated good to excellent.

Forty-seven percent of soybeans have been planted, 30 percent emerged.  Forty-seven percent of cotton has been planted and 25 percent has emerged.

Fifty-nine percent of peanuts have been planted and 15 percent emerged. 

Eighty-nine percent of the winter wheat crop has headed, and 39 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.

Thirty-one percent of the hay crop has had its first cutting and 51 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent. 

96 percent of Topsoil and 96 percent of Subsoil are called adequate to surplus.
