Avoid potential COVID spread at seed delivery time

Farmers are being urged to avoid potential spread of the coronavirus at seed delivery time. Rusty Lee is a field agronomy specialist with University of Missouri Extension. He tells Brownfield Ag News, “Go ahead and ask them ahead of time not to use your skid loader or your forklift to unload the product. Schedule a time that you can be there and operate your own equipment to offload them. It’s a little bit of extra work and planning on the part of the farmer but it’s going to help us cut down on this cross-contamination.”

Lee says every farmer must take into account the people they come in contact with, including their family members, and practice social distancing and proper hand washing to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19.
