2020 prospects unclear as growing season approaches
There’s a lot of uncertainty as farmers near the start of the 2020 growing season.
For Ben Storm in southeast Minnesota, he says turning a profit remains a challenge.
“But hopefully we see some rallies in both the corn and soybean market, and we have a good spring and get stuff planted on time. Which hopefully leads to better yields than in 2019.”
He tells Brownfield he’s trying to stay positive.
“So I’m optimistic, but at the same time if the prices don’t go up a lot from here there’s not going to be a lot of profit this year.”
Storm grows corn and soybeans near Dover.
