Douglas Hall

Douglas Pairman Hall, 94, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Premier Estates.

Douglas was born on January 9, 1931, in Detroit, MI, the son of Alfred and Elizabeth Drummond Hall. He married Susan Dasbach on March 4, 1967, in Chicago, IL.

Douglas was an electrician; he did the electrical in the gas station that was in the Blues Brothers movie. He was a Mason and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Douglas was a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader and did archery.

He loved life and was a good provider, great grandfather, and a loving person. Douglas was thrifty and always looking for a new adventure. He enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. He was very goofy and loved to make people laugh. Douglas enjoyed photography and belonged to the camera club and bowling club. He was known as the popcorn man at bingo at the Masonic Lodge and popcorn Friday at Muscatine High School.

Douglas is survived by his children, Ian Hall (Amy Foster), Heather Hall, and Nancy VanBlarcom (Ray); grandchildren, Mason Hall, Abigail VanBlarcom, and Piper Hall; and his great grandchildren, Mason Hall Jr, and Malachi Hall.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Margaret Davies.
