Linda Leanne Maas

Linda Leanne Maas, 83, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Trinity Rock Island Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be 12:00 pm on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Willie Rosin will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to IlIowa Boy Scout Council or Zion Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Linda was born on April 7, 1941, in Muscatine, the daughter of Cornelius ‘Dutch’ and Dorothy G. Turner Giessregen. She married James Maas on November 1, 2008, in Muscatine, Iowa.

Linda graduated from Muscatine High School in 1959, was a district commissioner for the Hoover District, a Cub Master for Troop 98 and was also active with troop 167 Boy Scouts Troop. She worked at Maid Rite for 25 years. Linda also worked as a CNA in nursing homes for 14 years and at Walmart.

She was very open-minded, generous, and would provide for anyone in need. Her passion was helping people. Linda loved to cook, do crossword puzzles, listening to music of all kinds and was a “NASCAR NUT”. She enjoyed watching martial arts, ever since Adam did it.

Linda is survived by her children, Adam Bailey of Wilton, Lisa Truitt (Larry) of Muscatine, and Holly (Tom) Lunde of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Heidi Vogel of Florida, Faith Ibarra (Dante) Virginia, Jeff Vogel (MariLou) of Virginia and Heather Hasan (Maohammae) of Florida; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren; beloved silky terrier, Sophie; siblings, Janet Giessregen of Muscatine, and Connie Foster (Ed) of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James in 2020; daughter, Hope Vogel; sister, Sharon Hargrave; nephew David Hargrave.
