Linda Ann Foor, 76, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Lutheran Living.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Muscatine Humane Society, It Takes a Village in Muscatine, or Alzheimer’s Association.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the First Christian Church in Muscatine. Pastor Marcia Heil will officiate. A time for food and fellowship will follow the service at the church. A private family burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery in West Liberty, Iowa. Linda was born on October 11, 1948, in Iowa City, the daughter of Floyd and Barbara Peters Bothell. She married Robert Thompson and later divorced. She later married Robert L. Foor on June 7, 1991, in Muscatine at the First Christian Church.
Linda was a 1967 graduate of West Liberty High School. She worked at E & M Charities as an assistant and was a caregiver to Elizabeth Stanley. She later earned her Master of Divinity in 2000 from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. She was interim Pastor at The United Parish, Lomax Christian Church, Nichols Christian Church, and a youth Pastor at First Church United in West Liberty, Iowa. She was a Pastor at Washington Christian Church and was co-director at Lending Hands in Washington, Iowa. She was an ordained minister and had been a Chaplain at the University of Iowa Hospitals. She was a member of the First Christian Church where was ordained in 2001. She was also a minister and preacher at the Lending Hands Adult Daycare.
Linda was an avid quilter and enjoyed sewing. She was compassionate, caring, empathetic, and accomplished. She always strived for more and wanted to achieve more.
Linda is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Joe (Heidi) Thompson and Jon (Sara) Thompson; two stepchildren, Jona (Joel) Harris and Joe (Kelly) Foor; grandchildren, Stone, Ivy, Eve, Nate, and Ben; step grandchildren, Troy, Kallie Mae, Marc, Mackenzie, Madeline, Jaxson, and Lennox; one great grandson, Rhett; and siblings, Susan (George Kondora) Anderson, John (Shirley) Bothell, and Lori Lux.
She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Luke; brother, Denny; mother and father-in-law, Ella Mae and John Foor; brother and sister-in-law, John F. Foor and Mary Ellen Phillips.
