Laura Jean Wheeler, 64, passed away after battling cancer for 24 years, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Lutheran Homes Senior Campus, with family by her side.
Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Muscatine. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Laura was born on November 10, 1960, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of John and Anita Ogier Moss. She married Andrew Wheeler on February 14, 1992.
Laura enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was fishing, camping, water skiing, or admiring flowers. She was an avid Hawkeyes fan and played softball. She enjoyed driving, watching soap operas, and bowling. Laura loved spending time with family, especially her son and grandkids.
Those left to honor her memory include, her husband, Andrew Wheeler; son, Lucas Wheeler (Kearston); grandchildren, Liam and Ellie Wheeler; Mother, Anita Moss; and siblings, Marsha (Jeff) Bradley, and Sandy (Daryl) Hansmeier.
She is preceded in death by her father, John, sister, Kathy Healey; nephew, Tyler Bradley; maternal grandparents, George and Frances Ogier; paternal grandparents, Paul and Pearl Moss; and mother and father-in-law, Robert Wheeler and Mary Lou Haller.
