Temporary stop sign to be removed from Bidwell at Leroy

(City of Muscatine)

A Muscatine intersection will return to its previous configuration this week following a decision by the Muscatine City Council.

A temporary stop sign has been located in the northbound lane of Bidwell Road at the intersection with Leroy Street for the past several months as the city conducted a study to see if a permanent stop sign was appropriate and/or needed.

Officials with the Department of Public Works indicated that the Council decision to return to the previous configuration means that the temporary stop sign will be removed by the end of business on Monday (Nov. 25).

Drivers should be aware that the intersection will return to its original configuration with the only stop sign at the intersection for southbound Bidwell traffic. Safety is the City’s primary concern and we urge all drivers to use caution when proceeding through this intersection and pay attention to traffic flow and pedestrians.
