Fred was born on February 11, 1963, in Muscatine, the son of John R. and Mary Beth Bankhead Hoopes. He married Lucinda ‘Cinda’ Hahn on October 10, 1981, in Muscatine.
Fred was a 1981 graduate of Muscatine High School and had attended Muscatine Community College. He worked at Grain Processing Corp and later worked at Boche/RIVO Plumbing. Fred also farmed with his son, Zach. More recently, he enjoyed being semi-retired while running his backflow business.
Fred enjoyed being outdoors whether it was fishing on the beach or hunting. He never knew a stranger and would always make you feel welcome. He would do anything for a good laugh and would even laugh at his own jokes. He could bring a smile to your face and laugh along with you. Anyone that truly knew Fred knew he had a big heart. Most of all, Fred loved his family.
Fred will be deeply missed by his wife, Cinda Hoopes; sons, Ben Hoopes, his wife Stacey, and their children, Hadley and Dexter, Zach Hoopes, his wife Katie, and their children, Grace and Natalie, and Sam Hoopes, his wife Erica, and their children, Blaire and Fred Henry all of Muscatine; mother, Mary Beth Hoopes of Kenansville, Florida; siblings, Holly Hoopes Kiwala of Kenansville, Florida, Simon Hoopes, his wife Christa of Hawaii; Nick Hoopes and his wife Maria of Muskegon, Michigan; brother-in-law, Brian Hahn, his wife Janell; and sister-in-law, Ginger Hahn; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
