Dolores Ann Collins, 88, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Addington Place.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Darryl Erickson will officiate. Dolores was born on April 29, 1935, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Aaron and Lela Leone Lipsett Lenhart. She married Farrell Faydean Collins on August 19, 1955, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2009.
She graduated from Osceola High School in 1953 and was Salutatorian and Homecoming Queen. Dolores worked as a lab technician at Muscatine General Hospital where she met her husband. She was a devoted farm wife with her husband. She drove a school bus and retired from Heinz.
Dolores was a member of Letts United Methodist Church, UMW, and Eastern Star for many years. She was a den mother for her sons cub scouts and enjoyed gardening, being outside, bird watching, and loved her cats. Dolores was servant minded. She enjoyed reading her bible, helping with luncheons at church and fellowshipping with her sisters in Christ.
She is survived by her children, Deena Jo Christy of Letts, William Farrell Collins of Ogden, Ronald Dean Collins (Marie), of Letts, Gary Lee Collins (Robin) of Davenport, and Steven Alan Collins of Letts; seven grandchildren, Travis, Summer, Jennifer, Rachael, Kelli, and Cynthia’s children, Rosanna and Ebony; and 12 great grandchildren.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Faydean; her son, Scott Collins; grandson, Greg; son-in-law, Dave; daughter-in-law, Cynthia; and siblings, John and Donna.
