Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures across much of the northern and western U.S., while warmer-than-normal weather will be confined to northern Maine, the Pacific Northwest, and an area stretching from the southern half of the Plains to the middle and southern Atlantic States.
Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation nearly nationwide should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions in southern sections of Florida and Texas, as well as portions of the Northwest.
