The Kansas Department of Agriculture has released election results for the five grain commodity commissions in the central region of the state.
KDA says the commissions, including corn, grain sorghum, soybeans, sunflowers, and wheat, serve the state’s ag industry by managing their crop’s research promotion and education programs, which are funded by check-off funds.
To be eligible, candidates must be a grower of the commodity in question and a resident in the state of voting age, and are elected by eligible growers in their district.
