USB leader discusses U.S. soy’s role in Colombia

A farmer-director on the United Soybean Board says Colombia is an important export destination for U.S. soybeans.

Philip Good tells Brownfield he recently returned from a trade mission to Colombia where soy growers got a firsthand look at their checkoff investments.

“Looked at their economic situation there,” he said. “Looked at their budget, saw what they can invest in proteins there. We were able to visit an aquaculture farm and see what soy is doing for not only their diet, but for the diet of aquaculture there as well.”

He says the expansion of crushing facilities will help increase demand for soybean imports to the country.
