Rita R. Lamb, 87, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Addington Place in Muscatine.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Calvary Church. Reverend Dan Schoepf will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the church. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Calvary Church or Hospice Compassus. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Rita was born on September 25, 1936, in Muscatine, the daughter of Clyde and Erma Orris Rebelsky. She married James L. Lamb on June 18, 1954, in Muscatine. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this year.
Rita worked at Sprouse Distributing before retiring. She taught Sunday School for many years at Mulford Evangelical Free Church and later attended Calvary Church. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeyes.
She loved to knit sweaters, blankets, and baby blankets. The most important thing to Rita was her family.
Rita is survived by her husband, James L. Lamb of Muscatine and two sons, Gregory Lamb and his wife, Linda, of Muscatine and Patrick Lamb and his wife, Tracy, of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Bradley Lamb and his wife, Shelby; Tyler Lamb and his wife, Anne; Nathan Lamb and his wife, Meredith; Tanner Lamb and his wife, Angie; and Meghan Schwind and her husband, John; as well as nine great grandchildren, Rory, Rylie, Madelyn, Jack, Ethan, Laney, Evie, Harry, and Blake.
Rita was preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia Sprouse and husband, Don, and Janet Downey and husband, Pat.
