Clark Breaks Two Scoring Records In One Night

Going into last nights game, Caitlin Clark was eight points away from the NCAA Women’s Basketball scoring record. She broke the record half way through the first quarter, passing 3527 points to move ahead of former Washington Huskie Kelsey Plum. Clark had  massive first quarter scoring 23 points to smash the record early in the game.  But she wasn’t done as she went on to score a Iowa Women’s  Basketball record 49 points as Iowa downed Michigan 106-89.

Clark became the first player in NCAA Division I history—men’s or women’s—to achieve both 3,000 points and 1,000 assists in her career. The reigning Naismith College Player of the Year is credited with elevating women’s basketball, breaking attendance and viewership records—the Hawkeyes have played in four of the six most-watched women’s college basketball games this season, including almost 1.8 million viewers on Super Bowl Sunday.
