There will be no refuse collection on Monday and Tuesday, December 25-26, no Bulky Waste or Yard Waste collection Friday-Tuesday, December 22-26, and no recycling collection on Monday, December 25, according to the Solid Waste Division of the City of Muscatine Department of Public Works.
Residents on the Monday refuse route will have their containers emptied on Friday (Dec. 22), along with residents on the regular Friday route. Monday route customers, along with those on the Friday route, are reminded to have their containers curbside by 5 a.m. Friday for collection.
Residents on the Tuesday route will have their refuse collected on Wednesday (Dec. 27), along with residents on the regular Wednesday route. Tuesday route customers, along with those on the Wednesday route, are reminded to have their containers curbside by 5 a.m. Wednesday for collection.
There will be no curbside recycling collection on Monday (Dec. 25). Monday’s “A” route will be collected on Tuesday. Customers on the regular Tuesday route will have their recycling containers emptied on Wednesday, Wednesday’s route customers on Thursday, Thursday’s route customers on Friday, and Friday’s route customers on Saturday.
The Muscatine Transfer Station will be closed Monday and Tuesday (Dec. 25-26) for the Christmas holiday. The facility will resume regular hours of operation on Wednesday (Dec. 27). Transfer Station hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. with the last load on the scale at 3:15 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m.-12 p.m. with the last load on the scale at 11:45 a.m.
The Compost Facility is currently closed for the season.
