MO corn, soybean and cotton harvest advance modestly

Harvest advanced modestly in the last week across Missouri. USDA says 89% of the corn and 84% of soybeans are harvested.

In west-central Missouri, farmer Daniel Carpenter says harvest is mostly wrapped up near his farm and most of corn and soybeans had variable yields.

“Maybe slightly below average yields in some areas, depending on some soil composition and things of that nature, but farmers took out some decent crops in the Missouri River bottoms,” says Carpenter.
