The USDA says damp conditions slowed corn and soybean harvest progress last week in Indiana.
Corn for grain harvest continued considerably behind the five-year average at 42%, with many producers reporting the crop was not drying as quickly as expected. The condition of corn remaining in fields was rated 67% good to excellent.
Soybean harvest was also behind the five-year average at 65% completion.
USDA says the 57% of the state’s expected winter wheat crop has been planted and 23% of the crop has emerged.
