Pumpkin demand lighter than usual

Pumpkin demand lighter than usual

A longtime pumpkin grower is questioning if a difficult economy has impacted consumer demand.

Matt Aultman tells Brownfield buying has been slow and inventories have been usually high for this far into October.

“I don’t know if that’s economy or things going on in society, but purchasing side has been kind of mediocre compared to like the COVID year, COVID year is probably our best year ever selling,” he says.

Aultman says the quality of their pumpkins and squash has been the best he’s had in the past few years.
