Four percent of Kentucky corn harvested

Harvest has kicked off in Kentucky.  Four percent of the state’s corn crop has been harvested with 40% mature and 71% rated good to excellent.

Keith Tapp, who farms in western Kentucky says quality has been better than he expected for corn. “We’re running a little below average for corn about 180. Last year was a little over 200-220.”

He says moisture on the corn so far has been running in the mid to upper 20s.
