West-central Minnesota farmer expects average crop

A west-central Minnesota farmer isn’t too high or too low on this year’s crop.

“Well it’s been that average growing season with lots of ups and downs like you usually find.”

Paul Freeman grows corn and soybeans near Starbuck and tells Brownfield rains have been spotty.

“Right now things are greened up from our end-of-July rain, so it’s looking better (and) I’m hoping for an average yield on corn and soybeans.”

He says managing the crop came with some challenges.
