Across the Corn Belt, dry weather prevails.  However, unusually cool weather in the Great Lakes States contrasts with late-season warmth in the western Corn Belt.  Wednesday’s high temperatures will remain below 70°F in portions of the lower Great Lakes region.  On August 27, statewide topsoil moisture was at least one-half very short to short in Iowa (68%), Minnesota (60%), Nebraska (54%), and North Dakota (50%), reflecting one of the challenges crops have faced this year.
