The USDA says warm and dry weather put some heat stress on crops last week in South Dakota.

Corn condition declined two percentage points to 54% good to excellent. Eighty-five percent of the crop is in the dough stage, near the five-year average, and 1% of the crop is mature.

The state’s soybean crop declined five percentage points to 54% good to excellent. Ninety-one percent of the crop is setting pods, equal to the five-year average, and 7% is dropping leaves.
