Marion M. Finley

Marion M. Finley, 97, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Lutheran Living Senior Campus.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Dan Schoepf will officiate. A private family burial will be in Nichols Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.

Marion was born on December 23, 1925, in Muscatine, the daughter of Leroy and Ella Nietzel Daniels. She attended Muscatine High School where she was involved in various clubs and organizations and graduated in 1944. She also played the piano at First Presbyterian Church in Muscatine. She married James D. Finley on February 8, 1947, in Muscatine.

Previously, she was a member of Sweet Adeline’s and enjoyed dancing with her husband at the Moose. She enjoyed playing euchre with her husband and friends, playing the piano, spending time outdoors and reading.

Those left to honor her memory include three children, Dean Finley and wife, Tina, of Muscatine, Janet Luedtka of Solon, and Pat Finley and husband, Bobby Olsen, of Denver, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Brian Luedtka, Stacey Munson, Clint Finley, Grant Finley, Tana Padilla, Clay Finley, Kelly Hall, and Sean Greengard; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Ella; husband, James; two brothers, Norman and Kenneth Daniels; and son-in-law, Jim Luedtka.
