Webster City man sentenced after pleading guilty to 2001 sex abuse

In March of 2021, the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation after a female came forward to report she had been sexually assaulted in 2001, at the age of 8, by a male known to her. That male was identified as Raymond Dale Hutchison, now 75 years old, of Webster City, Iowa. The alleged acts were said to have taken place in Muscatine, Iowa at Hutchison’s residence at the time.

Through the investigation, law enforcement was able to corroborate the female’s allegations and collect evidence which showed Hutchison did in fact sexually abuse the female in 2001.  A warrant was issued and Hutchison was arrested in April of 2021 in Hamilton County, Iowa.  

In November of 2022, Hutchison pled guilty to one count of Lascivious Acts with a Child, a Class D felony.

On May 19, 2023, the defendant was sentenced and received a suspended prison sentence of five (5) years and was placed on supervised probation.  HUTCHISON was is also subject to special sentence under Iowa Code 903B.1 committing him to lifetime supervised release as if on parole following the completion of a period of incarceration and is subject to lifetime registration as a sex offender pursuant to the provisions of Iowa Code 692A.106
