A warm, tranquil, largely dry pattern next week for the Plains & Corn Belt

A cold front currently stretching from the Great Lakes to the southern Plains will move eastward, reaching the Atlantic Seaboard during the weekend.

Showers associated with the front may linger into next week, however, across the lower Southeast.

Additional rainfall could reach 1 to 2 inches on the southern Plains and 1 to 3 inches or more along the southern Atlantic Coast.  In the front’s wake, relatively tranquil weather will prevail across much of the country.
