The Des Moines Arts Festival will expand opportunities for emerging artists at the 2023 Des Moines Arts Festival® presented by Nationwide.

The Festival’s award-winning Emerging Iowa Artist Program presented by Principal annually welcomes Iowa residents who are enrolled in or recently graduated from a university, college or art school. It gives them the opportunity to exhibit for free at the summer festival.

New this year, the program expands to individuals making a new career in art at any stage of their life. Collectively, the programs will welcome 12 emerging artists to the 2023 Festival, June 23 – 25, in downtown’s Western Gateway Park.

The Emerging Iowa Artist booths will be grouped together on Grand Ave. near 13th Street while the Emerging Artists will be mixed with other artists throughout the Juried Art Fair.
