An extension agronomist is calling the planting season “hit or miss” in central Iowa.
Meaghan Anderson with Iowa State University says some farmers took advantage of warm weather in mid-April.
“We had that really nice week right around Easter and then shortly after and got some crop in, and things got kind of cool and wet after that. Which is much more typical for April.”
She tells Brownfield another planting window opened last week for many corn and soybean growers.
