Cash hogs close steady to higher Thursday

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle were mostly lower watching direct cash business develop, and feeders were higher on the lower move in corn.

There was another light, scattered round of direct cash cattle trade that took place on Thursday.  Deals in Nebraska were at $280 dressed.  The rest of cattle country was relatively quiet.  Asking prices in the South were at $172 live and in the North $282 dressed.  Look for more business to pick up over the balance of the week.
