Agronomist encouraged by field observations

An agronomist says he’s encouraged by what he’s seen in corn fields while traveling in northern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin.  Brent Tharp with Wyffel’s Hybrids tells Brownfield he was concerned about cool, wet weather after many farmers planted during a warm spell. “That corn has been sitting in the ground for a long time, over three weeks so, it’s coming and the stand is going to be solid.”

Tharp says some of the fields are emerging quicker than others, and he’s also not worried about the crops that were planted just recently.
