Farm bill listening session coming to MO

A farm bill listening session is scheduled for Missouri later this summer.

Congressman Mark Alford from western Missouri, a member of the House Agriculture Committee, tells Brownfield the event will take place on August 14 at the Missouri State Fair.

“We’re trying to secure the governor’s pavilion, the same place where they have the governor’s ham breakfast, but the events will be a few days apart. We are trying to get Governor Parson there and will be extending an invitation to Speaker Kevin McCarthy.”

Alford says while the hearing is scheduled later in the farm bill process, Missouri agriculture can still have input on issues like the farm safety net.
