
Kansas farmers are ahead of schedule for planting corn and soybeans.
The USDA says 34 percent of the corn crop is in, two percent ahead of the five-year average. Fourteen percent of soybeans have been planted, 8 percent of the average pace.
Winter wheat condition is rated at 74 percent poor-to-very poor, and 61 percent is joined and 11 percent is headed.
Topsoil moisture is 32 percent adequate-to-surplus and subsoil moisture is 20 percent adequate.
