House Majority Whip positive SNAP will remain tied to next farm bill

The Majority Whip in the U.S. House is positive the nutrition title will not be separate from the next farm bill.

Republican Congressman Tom Emmer of Minnesota says as the Majority Whip, his job is to make sure any bills coming to the House Floor can pass.

“It’s our job to make sure that our members are all getting their questions answered (because) they represent their constituents (and) have to make sure their constituents are being heard and that their issues are being dealt with in the farm bill.”

He tells Brownfield he’s in a unique position to ensure the SNAP program and farm bill remain connected.
