A food sale will be held at Iglesia El Balsamo of Muscatine benefitting the family of missing Muscatine man, Cristian Martinez, as the search continues statewide. The sale will be held this Sunday, April 23, 2023, beginning at 1 p.m.
The sale includes a taco dinner (3 tacos, rice, and beans) with a soda for the price of $12. Meat choices include asada or al pastor. Desserts will also be sold. All proceeds will benefit the family directly.
Iglesia El Balsamo is located at 1919 Grandview Ave.
Based on the ongoing investigation, Iowa City Police have expanded the search area in the ongoing effort to locate Martinez, according to Iowa Public Safety officials.
Investigators believe Cristian Martinez, 20, might have been in the area between the 100 Block of W. Harrison Street and the Benton Street Bridge. Iowa City Police are working closely with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, which has jurisdiction over the Iowa River. ICPD investigators are continuing to thoroughly follow up on leads.
